Selas Fluid’s Technology Center Tour
Thermal Oxidation Technologies

Note: Attendees will receive 2 PDHs toward PE and other certification accreditation.

Join us on May 17th to visit Selas Fluid’s Technology Center located in Conshohocken, PA.

Focusing on the LoTOX™ (Low Temperature Oxidation) technology, a demonstration will be run at the Center to highlight NOx reduction employing injection of oxygen and ozone to achieve lower NOx emissions than typical NOx removal technologies such as SCR and SNCR.  Supplied by Selas Fluid’s parent company, Linde Gas, the system is mounted on a mobile demonstration trailer.  The trailer is available for onsite demonstrations at clients’ facilities.

Selas Fluid’s Technology Center includes a combination of permanent and modular systems used for process validations.  Permanent systems include:

A 1.3 MM Btu/hr. down fired Sub-X® thermal oxidizer with a submerged quench, high-energy venture scrubber, and a packed column for acid gas treatment.  This unit is used in testing with waste gases and liquids.

A 3 MM Btu/hr. staged combustion (reducing-oxidizing or ReDOx) thermal oxidizer with a countercurrent, spray quench and combination venture/packed column scrubber employing sub-cooled scrubber liquor applicable to waste gases and liquids.

A 40 MM Btu/hr. water-cooled furnace for conventional fuel combustion development testing.

A 1 MM Btu/hr. gas recuperative flameless thermal oxidizer with internal heat recovery to minimize support fuel requirements.

A GH12 flameless thermal oxidizer for waste gas oxidation, and is well suited to treating halogenated fumes.

The modular units provide a system for building customized combustion systems for a given need. Current inventory of combustion equipment at the facility allows configuration as either a water-cooled or refractory-lined design with heat releases up to 10 MM Btu/hr.  Various auxiliary equipment arrangements may be prepared for tail gas cleanup such as a partial quench and fabric filter to demonstrate dry inorganic particulate removal compliance with environmental emission regulations.  Waste feed options include a wide diversity of both gases and liquids.

The demonstration will begin at 5:30 p.m., with dinner to follow at Brittingham’s Irish Pub and Restaurant on Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill at 7:30 with a presentation to begin at 8:00.
