The importance of pursuing a professional engineering license

John A. Rhodes, P.E, President of the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers (NJSPE).

Mr. Rhodes received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Bowdoin College, a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, and the Degree of Civil Engineer with an expertise in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He has over 28 years of experience in environmental engineering related to property, air, surface water and groundwater. Mr. Rhodes is an expert in investigative and remediation engineering for contaminated properties and related management decision analysis.  Trained in environmental engineering science at MIT, he has built upon a strong foundation in environmental engineering technologies, hydrology, aquatic chemistry, and engineering economic and mathematical analysis. He is also experienced with economic risk assessment and risk reduction tools. Mr. Rhodes is a member of the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers Executive Committee, North Central MathCounts and the Founding Committee for the Institution of Professional Leadership, a NJSPE leadership training program.  He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers Future Directions Task Force from 2005 to 2006.
