Abstract:

This presentation will give an introduction into membrane filtration, practical aspects in various applications, and a more detailed analysis of membrane and porous media characterization techniques as they relate to filtration. The talk will include an overview of particle capture mechanisms in porous media, what is special about membrane filtration and an introduction into critical membrane parameters for filtration. Aspects of integrity testing after installation of the filter will be covered as well and the talk will conclude with a deeper analysis of characterization techniques as they relate to filtration performance.
