Speaker bio:
Ed Breen is Executive Chairman and CEO of DuPont, a global innovation company, delivering leading-edge material solutions and applications development expertise in the areas of electronics, clean water, personal protection, construction, electric vehicles, healthcare, aerospace, and other industries.

Over the past eight years, Ed has steered an iconic American company through a far reaching and multifaceted transformation from a chemical and agriculture giant to a premier multi-industrial company. He architected a strategy for unlocking shareholder value with one of the largest mergers and spinoff transactions in history— first merging E.I. du Pont de Nemours and The Dow Chemical Company, and then realigning portfolios to create three independent public companies.

A seasoned executive, Ed has been a CEO for more than two decades. At General Instruments he worked his way from sales to CEO leading GI through meteoric growth and deftly navigating the digital broadband revolution. After Motorola bought GI, Ed joined the C-suite where he worked to reestablish Motorola’s profitability. When he came to the helm of TYCO— a company that was nearly bankrupt, financially and ethically, he not only led the company back to profitability, but restored its culture and reputation.

Ed currently serves on the board of directors of Comcast Corporation and is a member of the advisory board of New Mountain Capital LLC, a private equity firm.
