Event Description: The talk will present an overview of process plant commissioning – what it is, who does it, and how. We’ll cover essential preparations to be made, and interaction with construction. A process plant is rarely commissioned as a grass roots plant. There will usually be an interaction with other operating units or systems. Process plant can be commissioned by ‘system’ or even by plant item. The objective is to bring an asset to a working condition as safely and effectively as possible while presenting a minimum interference with other operating plant areas.
Speaker: Ken Rollins is a chemical engineer of over 40 years experience. A member of AIChE since 1979, he is also a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers in the United Kingdom. He has wide ranging interests in biochemical, green chemistry, and green engineering. He has been involved in the commissioning of batch chemical plants, and continuous waste water treatment plants.
