Abstract:
This course will cover the following key elements related to process vacuum:

  • Steam Ejector vacuum creation
  • Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps
  • Hybrid Systems
  • Condensing systems and configurations
  • System design parameters, options, and optimization
  • Basics of troubleshooting
  • Graham Resources for design guidance

Biography:
Bill Kubik has been with Graham Corporation for over 30 years. He held a number of positions at Graham Corporation which includes technical (handling process vacuum, liquid ring pumps, and heat transfer) and management roles (handling international and local projects). In addition to his extensive work experience, he is also a member of a number of professional affiliations which are API Task Force (contributed to the publication of Standard 681 in 1996, Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps and Compressor); Heat Exchange Institute, Inc. (HEI) Task Force (contributed in previous rewrite of Standards for Steam Jet Vacuum Systems); HEI Task Force (contributed in rewriting Performance Standard for Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps); and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Task Group for Condenser In-Leakage Guideline TR-112819. He was also the Lead Project Engineer for Condensing Heat Transfer Research Study at the Rochester (New York) Institute of Technology co-sponsored by EPRI and ESERCO. His achievements also include being awarded Patent #7, 140, 378 that covers Instantaneous Water Design. Bill Kubik finished BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering at State University of New York in Buffalo, NY.
