Abstract:
This lecture will cover the following:

  • What is a gas liquid reaction and what are its key characteristics?
      • Operational considerations to implement a gas-liquid reaction system at industrial scale
      • Critical system components in an effective gas to liquid reaction plant:
              • Reactor Design
              • Filtration Design
      • Scale up: direct extrapolation from laboratory to industrial scale
      • Discussion of a few Biazzi cases.

      Biography:
Pamela Canjura is a Process Engineer with BIAZZI S.A. She obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, EPFL). Her graduate studies focused on process optimization and renewable technologies such as hydrogen utilization as an energy vector. As part of the Process Technology Department, Pamela works on process scale-up and optimization from the laboratory to industrial scale. Furthermore, Pamela has first-hand experience in commissioning hydrogenation projects such as a production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Pamela is also part of the sales team providing technical assistance during the initial project stages.
