2011 Annual Student Awards Banquet
Please join us as we recognize and honor the achievements of students in our region. We look forward to seeing you at the 2011 AIChE-DVS Sudent Awards Banquet. This year, it is hosted by Drexel University.
The Student Awards Banquet is our opportunity to recognize excellence in the future of the profession. It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet old and new friends. This year, our speakers will focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. We are fortunate to have one of our Board members, Doug Kriebel, 2011 Delaware Valley Engineer of the Year, as a speaker. He will be joined by Tom Merrill, CEO and co-Founder of FocalCool. His start-up company is housed in the South Jersey Technology Park of Rowan University.
FocalCool is a medical device start-up company that develops technology to reduce tissue damage from heart attacks and strokes. The FocalCool system applies rapid localized cooling to targeted internal organs, protecting vulnerable tissue (during a heart attack, stroke, or other condition). This technology is currently at the proof-of-concept stage with help from The National Institute of Health and the University of Pennsylvania.
