Biography:
Steve Galante is Engineering Director for Arkema and works in thiochemicals, a field in which the company is a world leader manufacturing chemicals used as/in
- Precursors of agrochemicals including an amino acid for animal feeds,
- Chain transfer agents (molecular weight regulation) in polymerization processes
- Odorization of natural gas for safe usage
- Pharmaceutical and personal care products
Steve is currently directing technical definition on a major capital project for Arkema. He has worked for about 20 years in process technology roles in the specialty chemical, polymer and pharmaceutical ingredient industries, driving growth and controlling costs through process / product development and optimization, process scale-up, capital projects, debottlenecking, acquisitions/mergers, safety and quality improvement. He likes to build and improve processes, systems, teams and people. He thrives on making things work. He has been fortunate to have opportunities to work at production sites in France, UK, India, China, and Japan, including an expatriate assignment in Europe. He holds a Ph.D. in ChemE (Carnegie Mellon), a BS from U. Penn, and an MBA from Temple; and is available at srgalante4@gmail.com.
